"I am writing to voice KANDU Industries' support for the Woodman's Sports & Convention Center proposal in the city of Janesville. KANDU Industries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides programs and services to people with disabilities and disadvantages in Rock County.
KANDU provides regular community programming for adults with disabilities to build independence, engage with community members, and build a wider support network. As such, KANDU is always looking to collaborate with community organizations and locations that provide accessible spaces for people of all ability levels. The proposed Woodman's Sports & Convention Center would provide additional accessible space for KANDU clients to use when tournaments and games are not being held, as well as a practice and meeting location for our clients on Wisconsin Special Olympics teams.
In addition to field trips and activities programming, KANDU supports people with disabilities through a robust community employment program that matches clients with employment opportunities at local businesses. The new complex will offer positions that are well suited for KANDU clients who are seeking positions that will provide them with the opportunity to live more independent and fulfilling lives.
KANDU is in support of projects like the Woodman's Sports & Convention Center that increase the number of safe, accessible spaces for community members and provide opportunities for citizens of all abilities to reach their fullest potential."
