Engaging the Community: A Word from the Project Manager

Sabrina Bowerman, Friends of the Woodman's Center Project Manager, shares her excitement to help organize and host the event alongside the City of Janesville:

"Whether you're a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, this event is an ideal way to slide into the new year and learn about the Woodman’s Center project while getting a first-hand look at the current ice arena capabilities. We hope attendees will feel a stronger sense of understanding and inclusion in the project when they see the need for a year-round permanent ice arena to house hockey, figure skating, and other on-ice sports growing in popularity in Janesville, Rock County, and South-central Wisconsin."

Let's not forget that the Woodman’s Center is not just an ice arena. At 130,000 square feet, the Woodman's Center will attract sports teams, regional and national companies, and organizations for meetings, conferences, and trade shows. It will also include a 20,000 square-foot conference space convertible to hardcourt space for youth sports, a multi-use arena that will be ice for a portion of the year and converted to dry space for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, futsal, or additional conference spaces.

This unique facility will be built to provide something for everyone, from ice, turf, and sports court spaces to meeting rooms and unique event spaces, at a revitalized and accessible location built for community enjoyment and engagement.
