Project Funding Advancements and Support Update - Dec. 2022

Updated: Jun 17, 2023

Woodman's Market has made a secondary pledge of $1 million dollars in support of the proposed Janesville facility. The amount follows a $2 million naming rights donation Woodman's gave in 2019.

The Janesville City Council voted, 5-2, to approve intent to borrow $17.3 million for the proposed Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center.

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s office announced a $5 million earmark, awarded through the Senate’s approval of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 in support of the Woodman’s Center. It’s part of $24 million in federal and state funding that the city of Janesville and private stakeholders have requested.

The Friends of the Indoor Sports Complex (FISC) will launch the “Together We Can” sponsorship and community giving campaign in early 2023. The campaign will also increase public outreach. Fundraising opportunities will be available at all giving levels. FISCC has committed to raising a minimum of $9M, the largest and most significant private fundraising campaign in Janesville’s history.

Support in the form of funding creates great advancements for the Woodman's Center project. These dollars will be used to create a facility that offers a diverse range of activities for Janesville families, individuals, and businesses while attracting visitors and making Janesville a sports tourism destination.

Personal donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
